Welcome to the SIREN bags page. SIREN bags is a one woman (at the moment) run business based out of my home in asheville, NC. I strive to make bags that are extremely tough, waterproof, versatile, yet simple. I am inspired by simple living, low cost traveling, military gear, survivalism, and urban exploring. My plan is to eventually ex

pand into a studio, and be able to hire a few employees. I will offer jobs to those less likely to get high paying jobs, but still are capable of learning skill. I will hire people who already know how to sew, and I will teach people how to sew on an intern bases. I will pay good wages and treat the people with respect and fairness. This is a huge goal for my business. Not to make as much money as I can, but to self sustain, and help others do the same and still give them freedom to roam when they'd like to. All this, while making sensible LONG LASTING quality products! I am constantly designing new bags, and plan to have a lot more backpacks, dog packs, bike panniers, instrument bags, etc in the future. for handmade things, and just quality things in general! below is a list of things I am interested in, if you dont have money but you have some of these things! I prefer that the materials cost is covered by cash and labor is trade. I update this list from time to time, or if you think you have something I might be interested in and its not listed, give a hollar anyway! wall hanging art stuff

Did you guys know I’m still making stuff? My website is still open and you can still buy my products. is no longer my full time job but I’ve had a really hard time totally walking away from it. I’ve invested SO MUCH thought, time, and money into this. I am not sure what the future holds but I think I will have to completely let go of Siren co one day, so if you’ve ever wanted one of these designs I would recommend you do it this winter because I might not be back.
I consider siren co a “failure”. When I tell people that they try to tell me it wasn’t and I understand what they are saying. I KNOW my product is beautiful, I KNOW i am a skilled seamstress. It is a failure because it just couldn’t pay my bills, it’s not sustainable as a real “career”, maybe someone other than me could’ve figured out how to make it work, but I couldn’t.
Sales doubled 2 years in a row, I was so excited and feeling good, I decided to grow, I hired someone 2 days a week, I bought materials in larger amounts, I made so many things then when it came to marketing and selling enough to sustain what I had already spent money on, I couldn’t. I got into a LOT of debt. I had to figure something else out….
So I started another business doing my other favorite thing. Landscape design and install. Turns out the landscape industry pays way better than the sewing industry (as almost anyone in the sewing industry, if they think it’s a smart industry to get into). I also have BILLABLE hours, which is so much more secure than spending all my time making stuff and hoping it sells.
It is has been heartbreaking to me for the past 1.5 years to be drifting away from siren co. It hurts, big time… but I guess I need to be an adult one day and make choices that will make life easier and stable.
Im not sure when I will actually pull the plug, I still have a lot of materials and I need to try to make some money back. So, for now, my website is there, and I am making things still. I don’t really post but if my website is up, then I am still fulfilling orders.
Thank you to everyone over the years who supported my work, I am almost crying while writing this, siren co was a huge passion of mine.

Help Helene victims: I’m going to go on a run and get things to donate. I’m going to be focusing on the most updated list I can get of the most priority needs. I’m going to be definitely looking for propane/kerosene heaters because the weather is getting cold. I feel like I need a day out of the area, so I’m going to get to the nearest functioning town and get all I can. It’s hard to be here and not help in someway. I went to clean up downtown Marshall for a few days but I’m feeling overwhelmed with talking to people. I am an introvert and I get really low on social battery sometimes. It’s hard to be downtown and around everyone buzzing around doing all kinds of great things while feeling the way I do. I’m Looking to do something else for a day. Please donate if you can, I know everyone has been.
