The U.S. Dollar Is Helping the Fund
One of the biggest things affecting FIDI right now is the value of the U.S. dollar compared to other currencies, especially the euro. The British pound and Japanese yen also matter.
The euro increased from $1.1106 in May 2025 to $1.1755 in May 2026. This means the euro became stronger against the U.S. dollar by about 6%.
Why is this important? FIDI receives dividends in different currencies like euros, pounds, Swiss francs, Canadian dollars, and yen. Before investors receive the money, those currencies are converted into U.S. dollars.
So, when foreign currencies become stronger, the value of those dividends increases after conversion. This helped improve part of FIDI’s return over the past year.
