For too long, credit risk has been seen as the department that slows business down.

“Don’t take the risk.”

“Reduce the limit.”

“Wait for more information.”

But what if credit risk management is actually about helping your business say YES, with confidence?

That’s where BCM comes in.

At BCM, we help businesses make better credit decisions by bringing together expert insight, technology, data and real-time monitoring.

We help businesses:
→ Assess customers before extending credit
→ Monitor changes in customer risk
→ Identify potential problems before they become losses
→ Strengthen credit policies and processes
→ Improve collections and cash flow
→ Make informed decisions without losing sight of commercial opportunity

Because the objective isn’t to eliminate risk. Risk is part of doing business.

The objective is to understand it, manage it and make better decisions around it.

Technology gives us information.
Data gives us insight.
Experience gives us perspective.

BCM brings these together to help businesses trade with greater confidence.

Because good credit risk management shouldn’t stand in the way of growth. It should make growth safer, smarter and more sustainable.

Most companies treat credit management like an afterthought.

A line item. A collections problem. Something the finance team "handles."

That mindset is costing businesses millions.

Here's the truth nobody wants to say out loud: Sales means nothing if you never collect it.

Strong credit management isn't about saying "no" to customers. It's about building a system that lets you say "yes" with confidence.

It means:
→ Knowing exactly who you can extend credit to, and how much
→ Catching risk before it becomes a write-off
→ Turning payment terms into a competitive advantage, not a liability
→ Protecting cash flow so growth doesn't outpace your ability to fund it

The companies that scale sustainably aren't the ones with the flashiest sales numbers. They're the ones with the discipline to manage risk while they grow.

Let BCM assist you in building a credit management system that protects everything you've worked so hard to create!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of bringing our community together for a powerful National Forum exploring a question that feels more relevant than ever: Is Ethics Dead? How do we restore our moral compass in business?

In a business environment where decisions are often driven by performance, pressure and profit, the conversation around ethics can’t be an afterthought. It has to be part of how we lead, govern and build organisations.

We were fortunate to be joined by three exceptional voices who brought different perspectives to this important conversation:

🔹 Janine Hills, CEO of Janine Hills Authentic Leadership, who challenged us to look at the role of authentic leadership and the values that guide our decisions

🔹 Ronelle Kleyn, CEO of Fluidrock Governance Group, who shared valuable insights into governance, accountability and the responsibility leaders have to create ethical organisations

🔹 Gareth Cremen, Partner at Cox Yeats Attorneys, who brought a legal perspective to the conversation, reminding us of the important relationship between ethics, responsibility and the law

The discussion left us with an important reminder: ethics isn’t dead, but it does require deliberate leadership.

Restoring our moral compass starts with the choices we make every day: what we tolerate, what we challenge, what we prioritise and ultimately, how we choose to lead.

Thank you to our speakers and everyone who joined us for such an engaging and thought-provoking forum.

The conversation may have ended yesterday, but the questions it raised are ones we should continue asking.

What does ethical leadership look like in your organisation?

Today, we celebrate the strength, resilience and brilliance of women everywhere.

Strong women don't just overcome challenges, they inspire change, break barriers, lift others up and redefine what's possible. Whether they're leading teams, building businesses, supporting families, or pursuing their dreams, their impact shapes our communities and our future.

This Women's Day, let's honour the women who have paved the way, celebrate those making a difference today and commit to creating a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive.

Here's to the women who lead with courage, kindness and determination!

Our Group Managing Director, Ross Evelyn, has a few words to share about the day.

It was an honour to welcome Thando Mosipa, a Grade 11 learner, to our BCM KZN office for a work shadow programme. We were privileged that she chose BCM to gain a first-hand insight into the world of business and credit management.

We wanted to provide Thando with more than just a glimpse into the workplace. Throughout the programme, she was exposed to the many facets of our business – including credit risk assessments, debt recovery, credit insurance, technology, AI, customer service, leadership, administration and the importance of teamwork. She also had the opportunity to engage with professionals from across our business, gaining an understanding of how each role contributes to helping businesses trade with confidence.

At BCM, we believe that investing in young people is an investment in the future. By opening our doors and sharing our knowledge, experience and passion for what we do, we hope to inspire the next generation of professionals and help them make informed decisions about their future careers.

We wish Thando every success with her studies and look forward to seeing where her journey takes her.
