Throwback to the day avoiding dirty hands nearly got my whole life dirty! 😂
A man asked me to carry two sacks of coal to the wharf and placed them in the taxi himself. I never touched the bags because I didn’t want coal blacking up my hands.
When I reached the wharf, I pulled over for the usual security check. One feel of the bags and the whole story changed—there was so much w**d inside, it felt less like w**d hidden in coal and more like coal hidden in w**d! 😩😂
But it got worse. When they opened the sacks, every package inside was neatly labeled—and the labels were different, like the w**d belonged to three or four separate owners!
This man didn’t send me on one little delivery. He had me unknowingly operating a full distribution centre! Inventory labeled, customers separated, transportation arranged—and the only employee who didn’t know about the business was me! No interview, no salary, no benefits…just straight into logistics! 😭😂
The police kept me for hours and treated me like I had to know something. I kept telling them, “Check the cameras.” When they finally reviewed the footage, it showed exactly what I said: the man placed the bags in the taxi, and I never touched them. They released me and started looking for him.
Nothing ever came of it after that, but the lesson stayed with me: I don’t carry unknown or sealed packages without proper identification and verification.
Coal can black up your hands—but that day it nearly blacked up my whole future! 😂
