Do you ever find yourself comparing your life to other people?

It can be really easy to feel bad about where we are in life while watching the highlight reels that people post online or the positive stories they tell us while chatting at work.

This is your reminder that your journey may not look like everyone else's, but you are doing your best, and you should be darn proud of yourself.

Your mindset determines your reality.

Reframing the way you think about paying bills can turn a process that is annoying into a monthly gratitude practice.

The next time you sit down to pay your bills, change your language from "I have to..." to "I get to..."

You will be surprised how much better you feel once you are done.

Have you ever done guilt math?

I used to do guilt math every time I grabbed a latte, said yes to takeout, or let my daughter get snacks at the movies.

Then I built my own version of an EBT account — money for food, living in its own space, decided on before I ever walked into a store.

Now when I say yes, it's already accounted for, and I get to spend guilt-free.

Swipe through for how one small shift changed my whole relationship with food spending.

Would you give this method a try?

How should I split my paycheck? 🤔

This is a question that I get most often.

We are told that we need to be intentional with our spending, but knowing what that looks like in the real world can be tricky.

Here's where to start:

Save for emergencies
Plan for retirement
Build your sinking funds
Bills and Debt repayment

You get to decide the percentages for each category, but this gives you a clear path to split your paycheck.

Do you have a plan for splitting your paychecks?

Want to know a secret? 🤫

You aren’t bad with money, you have an unhealthy relationship with it.

You won’t be able to stick to a spending plan, no matter how much money you have, if you don’t heal.

Remember, money on its own is just a tool. It has no power beyond what you give it.

Once you realize that, it becomes much easier to use your power to tell your money where to go.

Saving money after divorce can be challenging but it’s possible.

In order to stick to your savings goals you have to make the process as simple as possible.

Being too aggressive is what’s keeping you from reaching your savings goals.

To improve your chances of actually hitting your target set small, manageable savings goals first, then increase it over time.

This process will ensure that you aren’t dipping into your savings to fill other budget holes.

Sis, I know we are all stretching our coins as far as possible these days but sometimes it’s better to spend more up front for quality items.

If you have to replace something more frequently it can actually end up costing you more in the long run.

What products are worth the higher upfront cost to you?

Most of us dread paying bills, but what if a simple mindset shift could completely change how you feel about your money? 🤔

Instead of saying "I have to pay this bill," try saying "I get to pay this bill because I'm investing in myself and my family." It sounds small, but this one change can transform how you see your spending, turning what feels like a burden into proof that you're actively building the life you want.

Sis, your bills aren't just obligations; they're evidence of your priorities and your progress.

If you're ready to stop dreading your money and start directing it with intention, I'd love to help you get there.

Failure is the best teacher.

I’ve watched my clients experience exponential growth while navigating the disappointments that pop post-divorce.

The key to building a life you are proud of is to keep running, no matter how many times you stumble and fall.

Rebuilding after divorce can be even harder when you are depending on your ex to do what they agreed to.

Six months after our divorce was finalized, my ex quit his six-figure job to avoid paying the child support and alimony he'd agreed to pay.

We spent the next 6 months going back and forth to court before we reached a new agreement. In the meantime, I was left supporting our child without his financial assistance.

The lesson I learned from this was that we must build our post-divorce budgets on our income and treat any court-ordered amount as irregular income when possible.

That way, you will be able to adjust quickly if there are any changes.

Do you include child support in your base budget?
