A lot of people don’t realize that hurt, trauma, and potential can all exist in the same person at the same time.
As we get older, we gain wisdom. We learn from our mistakes. We heal from certain situations. And we begin to see glimpses of the person we’re capable of becoming.
But there’s a battle happening inside all of us.
One voice keeps replaying the pain. It reminds you of who hurt you, what went wrong, and why you should stay guarded. That voice keeps you stuck in survival mode.
The other voice speaks to your potential. It reminds you that your past doesn’t have to define your future. It challenges you to grow, take risks, heal, and become more.
What’s interesting is that two people can experience the same trauma and end up with completely different lives.
One chooses to live through the lens of their pain and remains in the same place for years.
The other chooses growth, purpose, and potential. They focus so much on becoming who they’re meant to be that eventually the trauma no longer controls their story.
The hurt may still be part of your journey, but it doesn’t have to be the author of your future.
The question is simple:
Which voice are you feeding?
The one that’s keeping you stuck?
Or the one that’s setting you free?
