B.Long Bookkeeping had a busy Thursday out in the community.

My first stop was the The Biscuit & The Bean Cafe to pickup breakfast for teachers at AG Cox middle school with the Winterville Chamber of Commerce.

Next up was a ribbon cutting to celebrate Laura Warrens's new business Legacy First Insurance NC - so proud of her!

And I wrapped my day with a monthly Friends of Greenville Greenways (FROGGS) board meeting. Please check us out if you love the greenways like me!

The Greater Greenville Chamber continues to invest in this community, and I was glad to attend this year's LeadHERShip Women's Conference to Build What Matters.

It's always worthwhile hearing other women share their stories and perspectives, and it's a good reminder to stay intentional about what I'm building, in my business and in my relationships.

Glad to be part of a community that puts these conversations on the calendar.

It was wonderful to attend this event with the The Junior League of Greenville, NC and learn more about Pitt County Sheriff Paula Dance.

Hearing about her career journey and her commitment to cultivating safer communities was truly inspiring. I especially appreciated learning about the programs focused on reducing recidivism and supporting successful reentry for individuals returning to the community.

Thank you for an engaging and insightful event!

This past week, we had the honor of welcoming Paula Dance as our guest for Ladies Who Lead Lunch. Sheriff Dance shared her story, her road to leadership, and the “why” behind her continued service to Pitt County. Her work is a powerful reminder that leadership is not only about breaking barriers, but about using that opportunity to create lasting change.

From programs that support individuals in detention centers through education, recovery, and vocational pathways, to her continued focus on building a safer and stronger community, Sheriff Dance leads with purpose that reaches far beyond the title. As North Carolina’s first African American female sheriff, Sheriff Dance has not only made history, she has made space for others.
