Happy birthday to our beautiful, intelligent daughter. You mean the absolute world to me and your dad, and we wish you all the treasures life has to give.
You surprised us so much this year by asking for a simple, dressed-down day at the amusement park. We hadn’t done anything like that in years! We had originally planned a much more extravagant day and evening for you, knowing how much you love the color pink, luxury, makeup, and getting dressed up. Seeing you choose pure simplicity was unexpected, but it reminded me of just how beautifully complex you are.
I will never forget the time I asked you to be more bubbly and welcoming, and you gave me a response that stayed with me forever. You told me that if anyone wishes to know you—including a future husband, if it’s in the cards—they must be willing to pry open the difficult shell of an oyster and peel back the deep layers of your persona to discover the wonder inside.
You were entirely right. You are a true treasure, and you deserve a love and a life where people gladly put in the time and effort to discover the priceless pearl that you are.
