Hey everyone!

In light of the storms and terrible damage in our communities, we have decided to reschedule the planned September meeting – we will let you know when that is on the calendar.

We found some opportunities for helping those in need due to the storm; here are some links to those sites:

The VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active Disaster) page has a good list of organizations and a contact person if there are any specific questions or requests.

The American Red Cross North Carolina Region has opened a shelter due to flooding caused by excessive rainfall from PTC #8. The shelter is available free of charge to individuals and families who need assistance and connect with resources. The shelter is located at the Brunswick Center at Leland (121 Town Hall Drive, Leland, NC 28451).

Volunteer or Donate

Brunswick County cannot accept donations, but you are welcome to visit the Brunswick County VOAD webpage to see partner organizations with unmet needs that you might assist or support: brunswickcountync.gov/voad.

Those who are interested in volunteering can find volunteer opportunities at brunswickcountync.gov/volunteer.

You can also check local municipal websites for additional opportunities at brunswickcountync.gov/municipalities.

What a great turnout with the MBALCF working with Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity. We helped a mother and daughter from the Dominican Republic with siding, paint, doors and yard work.

In the event you missed us yesterday at the Bluewater Waterfront Grill, we introduced our new board members for the 2023 fiscal year and we're so excited about the stellar year ahead regarding events, continued advocacy, and a bit of everything in between.

With the ever-changing mortgage banking landscape, this year is NOT a year that you want to miss out on any of these events and if anything, SHOULD be the year we all band together in capitalizing on the times ahead.
