We have 3 Grant County students that have been selected to attend the IFAL program this yr.; Mackenzie McWhorter, Brooke Scothorn and Lydia Smith.

IFAL; The Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders (IFAL) is a five-day summer leadership conference hosted by Kentucky Farm Bureau for rising high school seniors and exposes students to careers in agriculture and familiarizes them with Kentucky Farm Bureau. The conference will focus on agriculture career exploration, college life, and leadership development and has 2 dates in June with locations being at Murray State University and University of Kentucky.

Grant Co Farm Bureau participated in the 8th Annual Clays for a Cause and received best of 48 participating teams. Representing Grant Co Farm Bureau were Curt Webster; Williamstown Agent, Mason Malin; 4-H Agent and Brett Browning and Michael Taylor from Gravel Switch.

This years Clays for a Cause charitable event raised $401,750 with 100% of the proceeds going to Feeding Kentucky, Glean Kentucky, Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry and Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville.

An overwhelming majority of America’s farmers who responded to a nationwide survey say they cannot afford to purchase enough fertilizer to get them through the year. A survey conducted by the American Farm Bureau Federation shows 70% of respondents say fertilizer is so expensive that they will not be able to buy all the fertilizer they need.
