Several Grant Co Board Members, Directors and State Director spent the weekend in Hopkinsville for the 2026 Ky Young Farmer and Generation Bridge Summit. We enjoyed legislative discussions, breakout sessions and V
educational & fun visits were made to Folz Farms, a large 6,000 acre and 6th generation family farm, Siemer Milling Co., The Country Barn, Cundiff Farms and Circle F Farms and we ended the weekend with a rodeo!
Those attending were Travis & Natasha Rhoton, Mark & Julie Kinsey, Rachel Magee, Nathaniel Messer and Kendall Mullins.

We are less than 60 days away from what will be the greatest Kentucky State Fair in our Commonwealth’s history as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Attempting to replace the State Fair Board before the judicial process has run its course creates unnecessary disruption. We should be focused on showcasing the very best of Kentucky and everything that makes America the greatest nation on earth, not creating avoidable uncertainty.

A very concerning move and we urge all leaders to ensure they continue to promote and celebrate Ky Agriculture and keep Agriculture as a priority.

Kentucky Farm Bureau President Eddie Melton issued the following statement regarding changes to the Kentucky State Fair Board mission statement:

We are deeply concerned by the removal of agriculture from the Kentucky State Fair Board’s mission statement. For more than a century, the Kentucky State Fair Board and its governance have honored the work of Kentucky farmers, supported youth, and helped the public better understand the role agriculture plays in their daily lives.

Agriculture is not just another attraction. It is the foundation on which many of the premier shows and other exhibitions held at the Kentucky State Fairgrounds are built. Agriculture remains one of Kentucky’s most important industries.

We urge leaders to ensure that promoting and celebrating Kentucky agriculture remains a defining priority. Kentucky farm families deserve nothing less.
