START/FINISH LOCATION: 2101 W Sim Park Dr, Wichita. This is one mile west of the Wichita Art Museum along Museum Blvd/West Sim Park Dr at the work out park. Parking is available at 2101 W. Sim Park Dr or at the new Botanica parking lot just east of the start/finish line. The race route will take you along the bike path on the north side of the Arkansas River past Cowtown & Keeper of the Plains to Exploration Place and return along the bike path south of the Arkansas River. A short jog across the "red bridge" returns you to the Start/Finish line.

PACKET PICK-UP: Friday, April 10, noon to 5 p.m. at Wichita First Church of the Nazarene (1400 E. Kellogg Drive). Packets may also be picked up on race day starting at 7:30 am at the race information table near the starting line

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS? For the ninth year, your registration fee funds borehole wells and clean water education in African villages. After 8 years, we’ve built 51 Wichita borehole wells in Malawi, Zimbabwe, Kenya, DR Congo, Benin, Ivory Coast, and more, providing clean water to thousands daily. Many people lack easy access to clean water, forcing women and children to spend hours fetching contaminated water, leading to illness and death. Access to clean water reduces illness, increases school attendance, promotes gender equality, and improves communities.

Wichita Clean Water 5K collaborates with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries to construct safe wells and provide water education. Villages often rely on contaminated irrigation dams, leading to waterborne diseases. Women and children walk over 2½ miles for this water.

Your race entry supports more borehole wells and water education. Register for the Clean Water 5K and invite friends to make a life-changing difference. Together, we can install a safe well and contribute to something greater.

We want to take a moment to highlight Drunk and Drug Driver Awareness Month coming up in December. Please include safe driving in your holiday festivity plans. Our team member, Valerie knows firsthand the impact a fatal decision can have on a family. Valerie and her family visited the El Dorado Police Department and Butler County Sheriff's Dept in recognition of their work to stop DUI's. Her family volunteers at the DUI Victims Center of Kansas to raise awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence in honor of her brother, Clayton Patterson, who was killed four years ago by a drunk driver.
