Shortstop and cornerstone of our program the past few years, Jaxon Murray, signed with THE Ohio State University & one of our top starting pitchers, Tucker Doty, signed locally with current MEC powerhouse Wheeling University… Both products of Wheeling Post 1 Baseball & The Linsly School… Congrats and good luck fellas!! 👏 👏

The Wheeling Post 1 Organization lost a great man this past weekend, Dave Mathieu… We would like to extend our sincerest condolences to his family, friends, and everyone that had the pleasure to know him. Dave was a wonderful man… He was a past Treasurer and served as a board member of the Wheeling Post 1 American Legion Athletic Club. Dave was also a member of the 1975 WV Legion State Championship Team (pictured below top middle). The second image (Dave on the far left) was taken during our 2024 WV State Championship banquet. Dave will be remembered as a kind soul, always with a smile on his face, that accomplished so much in life, and contributed immensely to just not only Post 1, but the entire Wheeling Community. Again, Post 1 would like to express our deepest sympathy to Dave’s friends and family and hope that Dave finds eternal peace. 🙏 ⚾️

We would like to thank everybody who came out to our willing, Post 1 Catcher clinic yesterday. The coaches were impressed with how hard the kids worked and how well they listened.

This clinic will cover:
⚾️ Receiving & blocking fundamentals
⚾️ Footwork and transfer mechanics
⚾️ Throwing efficiency & pop times
⚾️ Leadership, game-calling, and IQ behind the plate

Lead instruction will be provided by Former West Liberty Hilltopper and Wheeling Post 1 standout catcher, Isaac Rine, along with multiple other alumni and current coaches!

Whether you’re new to the position or looking to level up your catching game, this is a session you don’t want to miss.

Last night was our final baseball workout of 2025, capping off what’s been another FANTASTIC year within the Post 1 Organization! After the workout, we honored some of last year’s players (those that could make it) to a casual dinner at Quakersteak & L**e. Of course we had 5 tables, but the guys thought it’d be best to pack into 2 🤣 Small things like this show the bonds that they share… Congrats again on a hard earned 2025 State Championship boys!
