Did you receive a letter about your plan is ending? No one from the government will call you to enroll. So please read this article and set up an appointment with Manos Insurance or your broker!
Opened a letter saying your Medicare Advantage plan won't be offered next year? Don't panic — and don't ignore it. That letter comes with real rights and deadlines. 📬
Every year, some Advantage plans leave certain areas or shut down. If yours is one of them, here's what to know:
🔹 It's not the same as your Annual Notice of Change. A non-renewal letter means the plan is ending — and it unlocks special enrollment rights. Save it; it's your proof.
🔹 You get extra time to choose. Beyond the fall window (Oct 15–Dec 7), you have a Special Enrollment Period running Dec 8 through the end of February to pick a new plan or return to Original Medicare.
🔹 A rare Medigap door opens. Because your plan is ending through no fault of yours, you may be able to buy certain Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plans with NO health questions — a right that's usually closed after your first year. It runs about 63 days from when your coverage ends, so don't wait.
⚠️ The one wrong move: doing nothing. Ignore the letter and you could land back in Original Medicare on Jan 1 with no drug coverage and no supplement — and miss that guaranteed Medigap window for good.
You don't have to figure this out alone. If your plan is going away — or you just want to know your options — reach out to Mary or Alexis at Manos Insurance. We'll compare what's available, check your doctors and prescriptions, and help you land somewhere that fits.
