I definitely spent the first 37 years of my life feeling like my trauma was a huge liability which made me unloveable. It was not until I met my fiancé that I realized the right person won’t leave you because of your flaws or trauma. They won’t hold it against you. There’s nothing wrong with you so long as you are working on yourself. People who run away from trauma are traumatized themselves and probably best left alone. You are awesome. ❤️💋👍🏼👍🏻😍

I also used to do this a lot with books until I got a kindle and mandated myself to use the “try a sample” feature which has dramatically reduced the number of unread books bought at full price in my life. I seriously have felt like this most of my life...like other people’s interests have inherent value in the world / society and mine don’t. I carried around a lot of self pity around being and sometimes can go back there. But it’s true that is the answer to a lot of my problems, and I think it applies here also. I got a later start in life after spending several years dealing with mental illness, and I beat myself up about it almost daily. Honestly though, who cares? Why am I so hung up on trying to impress imaginary people who are definitely not going to make an impact on my self-esteem?! 🥱🤮😪
