💡 MEDICARE TIP OF THE DAY: Watch for your ANOC! 📩

If you have a Medicare Advantage plan or a stand-alone Medicare Part D prescription drug plan, keep an eye on your mailbox and email inbox this September!

Your plan is required to make sure you receive your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) by September 30. It outlines important changes taking effect on January 1.

What should you review?

💸 Monthly premium, deductible, copays, and coinsurance

🛡️ Medicare Advantage maximum out-of-pocket (MOOP) limits

💊 Prescription drug formulary and tier changes

🏥 Provider, hospital, and preferred pharmacy network updates

⭐ Changes to extra benefits (dental, vision, hearing, OTC)

Plans change every year—so even if you loved your coverage this year, reviewing your notice gives you time to prepare before the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (Oct 15 – Dec 7).

Note for Original Medicare + Medigap beneficiaries: You generally will not receive an ANOC for Original Medicare or Medigap. However, if you have a stand-alone Part D drug plan, be sure to review that notice, and keep an eye out for any separate Medigap premium update from your carrier.

Did your income drop after you retired or scaled back your hours? You might be overpaying for Medicare! Medicare sets your monthly premiums using tax returns from two years ago. If you made more money then than you do now, Social Security adds a surcharge called IRMAA (Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount).

The good news? You don't have to just accept it. If you experienced a qualifying "Life-Changing Event" (like retirement, marriage/divorce, or loss of income property), you can file Form SSA-44 to appeal and lower your monthly costs.

Your health is worth being proactive about.

I encourage you to watch this podcast with Dr. Phil and Gary Brecka. It is a thought-provoking conversation about preventive health, nutrition, exercise, sleep, bloodwork, and the daily habits that can affect how we feel over time.

Not every point may apply to every person, and it is always important to speak with your doctor before changing medications, supplements, or treatment plans. But the big takeaway is powerful: don’t wait for a health scare to start paying attention to your health.

This is shaping up to be the biggest Buddy Baseball season in our 17-year history!

We have 185 players registered for our fall season, but only 125 buddies. That means we need 60+ more buddies to make sure every player has someone by their side when they take the field.

We're asking you for just ONE buddy.

Think of someone you know who might be willing to spend seven Saturdays helping a child with special needs play baseball.

Being a Buddy Baseball buddy:

Doesn't require special baseball skills.
Doesn't require a huge time commitment.
Doesn't require experience working with children with special needs.
Simply requires showing up, having fun and being willing to help.
7 games. 7 Saturdays. One amazing experience.
Buddies can be ages 9–22.
Buddies receive community service hours.

Need some ideas?
Think about:

A neighbor
A niece, nephew or grandchild
A high-school student
A college student
A co-worker's child
Someone from your social group or club
Someone from your place of worship
