Small Business Shoutout!

There’s something special about building something of your own.
As a small business owner myself, I know how much work happens behind the scenes. The long days, the risks, the relationships you build, and the pride that comes from serving the people in your community.
That’s why I’ll always have a soft spot for other local business owners doing the same thing.
From horse trainers and agricultural operations to local shops, makers, service businesses, and family-run companies, so much of our community is built by people willing to bet on themselves.
So today, I want to put the spotlight on them.

Horse people know exactly where this is going…

Horse people: we need to talk about the budget category nobody wants to talk about. Tack. Feed. Entry fees. Fuel. Vet bills. And somehow there’s always one more thing. 😂 A budget doesn’t mean you can’t spend money on what you love. It helps you understand what’s coming in, what’s going out and what matters most to you. Your budget should reflect your real life—not somebody else’s. Horse people, what expense gets you every time?

When I look at this photo, I’m reminded why I love what I do. Family has always been my biggest motivation, and it’s also at the heart of so many conversations I have with my clients. We all want the same things: to take care of the people we love, feel confident about the future, and enjoy the moments that matter most. I feel incredibly fortunate to help individuals and families create a plan that gives them a little more clarity and a little more peace of mind. Those relationships mean far more to me than any number ever could. At the end of the day, this work is about people, and I’m grateful to be a small part of so many families’ journeys.
