The President, Thomas Kuranda, has a business degree from the Commerce and Finance department of Villanova University in Villanova, PA. Kuranda has been in the banking, finance and mortgage field since 1992. Creating Kuranda Financial Mortgage Corp in 1996 was Mr. Kuranda's first step in applying his knowledge of the bond market to mortgage interest rates for the general public. Recent achievement
s include closing his 1000th loan in 1999, and his 23,000 loan in 2011. Tom has been quoted and interviewed by the San Diego Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer, Main Line Magazine, Philadelphia Magazine, KYW1060 News radio, and has advertised on every radio station in the greater Philadelphia area in the last 17 years. Tom also practices year-round full time MMA training, and is a full time youth sports coach as well as major advertiser/sponsor helping less privileged children go to camp and less fortunate families for 5 local YMCA's. Team Kuranda just recently finished it's 2nd Triathlon on the Main line, finishing 139 out of 279 entries @ the YMCA of the Main Line. Tom serves as a board member on the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies Advisory Committee at Montgomery County College in Blue Bell Pa, and is also on the Business Advisory Committee at MC3. Additionally Tom serves the Philadelphia/Phoenixville FREEDOM VALLEY YMCA Advisory Board. Thomas has been selected as a 2011,2012 AND 2013 Philadelphia Magazine Five Star Mortgage Professional. He is among a group of fewer than 7 percent of mortgage professionals in the Philadelphia area selected for the 2011-2013 Philly Magazine award. Tom grew up in Upstate New York and played 4 seasons of NCAA football for Buffalo State College as punt returner and defensive back before transferring into Villanova.
