🚨 Extreme Cold Watch – Please Prepare 🚨

An Extreme Cold Watch has been issued for our area, bringing a serious threat to life and property due to dangerously cold temperatures.

🕖 Timing
• Freeze Warning: Friday, 1 AM – 8 AM
• Extreme Cold Watch & Freeze Watch: Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon
• Cold conditions may begin as early as 7 PM on Saturday

🌡️ What to Expect
• Temperatures dropping below freezing
• Wind chills possibly as low as 6°F
• A hard freeze with temperatures potentially reaching 18°F

⚠️ Potential Impacts
• Frostbite on exposed skin can occur in as little as 30 minutes
• Increased risk of hypothermia
• Possible burst or ruptured water pipes
• Damage to tender plants
• Outdoor pets, as well as young children, seniors, and individuals experiencing homelessness, are especially vulnerable

✅ What You Should Do
• Limit time outdoors and dress in layers
• Protect exposed skin
• Bring pets indoors or provide proper shelter
• Insulate pipes and let faucets drip if needed
• Check on neighbors, family, and those who may need assistance
