BEWARE OF THE SCAMS!

Did you know it is illegal for anyone to call you about Medicare withOUT YOUR PERMISSION.

So if anyone calls you with "a deal" they have shown they are willing to break the law and be dishonest to get to you...what lies and half-truths will they be willing to say to get you to sign up with them.

There are NO CHANGES to Medicare that are going to happen before Oct 15th's Annual Enrollment. Spammers and Cold Callers are trying to scare you with rumors just to get you to call or listen to them.

Please...NEVER GIVE OUT your Medicare ID number over the phone to these scammers. Your name, DOB and Medicare ID is all they need to completely change and mess up your coverage. Please be safe!

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced a Marketplace Special Enrollment Period (SEP) for qualified individuals and their families who are losing Medicaid or Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) coverage due to the end of the continuous enrollment condition, also known as “unwinding.”

This temporary SEP, referred to as the Unwinding SEP, will allow individuals and families in Federally-facilitated Marketplace (FFM) states to enroll in Marketplace coverage.

Marketplace-eligible consumers losing Medicaid coverage who submit a new application or update an existing application between March 31, 2023, and July 31, 2024, and attest that they have lost or will lose Medicaid or CHIP coverage between these dates, are eligible for the Unwinding SEP.

Consumers who are eligible for the Unwinding SEP will have 60 days after they submit their application to select a plan with coverage that starts on the first day of the month after they select a plan.

Many consumers who lose Medicaid coverage will be directed to apply for coverage through the Marketplace. Although the earliest terminations will be effective on April 1, some states began processing unwinding-related renewals on February 1. People who receive advance notice of an April 1 termination may apply for Marketplace coverage immediately to ensure continuity of coverage.

It is important to note that this Unwinding event will also affect many Seniors on Medicare. Those Seniors impacted by the loss of Medicaid coverage will have a similar Special Enrollment opportunity to make changes to their Medicare Advantage and Drug coverages.
This can be a very confusing and stressful process for many consumers.

• How do I re-apply, add my children to my plan or start a new
application?

Medicaid Notice:

Beginning on February 10, 2023, states were once again able to resume the Medicaid Redetermination process, some as early as February 1, 2023.

This process is scheduled to start on July 1 in North Carolina, with members beginning to receive letters from the state as early as April 1.

Anyone who is no longer eligible for Medicaid will be disenrolled at that time.

Medicaid Members set to be disenrolled from their Medicaid plans will be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period on the ACA Marketplace and will be able to apply for health coverage and the APTC, the premium subsidy to reduce their health insurance premium.

This can be a confusing and tumultuous time for many of the clients, family and friends you may know who will need extra help from a knowledgeable agent who can explain the process clearly and walk them through the entire experience.

This would include:
• Understanding how all of the available plans work
• Choosing the right plan, that includes their doctors
• Getting enrolled in the correct plan
• Making their initial payment,
• Obtaining their ID Cards
• Enrolling in the Carrier Portal
• Ongoing assistance with any billing, claims and service issues

Open Enrollment for the ACA / Marketplace begins in just a few hours!

If you have Bright Health for a Carier in 2022 you WILL LOSE YOUR COVERAGE ON 12/31/22!
Bright Health is pulling out of NC and SC and all states except FL & CA.

The Marketplace is auto-enrolling some customers in NC to Aetna and Ambetter.

Why is this a BAD THING?

It is BAD if you want to keep your doctors.

Bright Health is a Novant plan, which means your doctors are likely Novant.

Aetna and Ambetter are Atrium plans, which means you will lose access to your doctors.

If you live in NC, SC or AZ Contact me before December 15th (the deadline to have coverage for January 1st) and let me help you pick your own plan. Don’t get bullied into a plan you didn’t and wouldn’t pick.

BRIGHT HEALTHCARE TO PULL OUT OF INSURANCE IN EVERY STATE EXCEPT FL & CA FOR 2023.

If you are currently insured with Bright Health for your Health Insurance or Medicare plan YOU MUST TAKE ACTION SOON!

Effective December 31, 2022 Bright Health will exit the Health Insurance and Medicare Market in all but two states (CA & FL).

This means you have from Nov 1 to Dec 15 of this year to pick a new plan with a different carrier or you will find yourself uninsured on January 1, 2023.
