Understanding Insurance
Deductible: Your deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket each year for healthcare services before your insurance starts covering costs.
For example: If your deductible is $1,500, you pay the first $1,500 of covered medical expenses yourself — after that, your plan helps with the bills.
It is important to note that some plans require a copayment for medical services so that you don’t have to meet your deductible before seeing a doctor.
