Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Joe Arroyo

Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Joe Arroyo Helping others has always been at the heart of who I am. Finance can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

As a financial advisor with Edward Jones, I take the time to understand what's most important to you—before we talk about investments. By collaborating with your CPA, attorney, and other trusted professionals, I work to create a financial strategy tailored to your unique goals and situation. I’m here to work with you one-on-one, helping you feel confident and informed every step of the way. I’ve h

ad the privilege of working with a wide range of clients—including veterans, first responders, educators, and skilled tradespeople—and each experience keeps my passion for this work alive. I began my career with Edward Jones in 2022 after spending several years in retail management. A proud Portage, Indiana native, I’ve always loved “The Region” and all it has to offer. My dad dedicated over 40 years to US Steel before retiring in 2016, and my mom stayed home to raise me, my brother, and our extended family. I graduated from Indiana University Northwest in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Management, along with minors in Marketing and Human Resource Management. I married my wife, Marci, in September 2017. We’ve lived in Valparaiso for eight years and are proud parents to our daughter, Emmy, who turns two this December. We also have a Boston terrier named Vinny and are excited to welcome a baby boy in August 2025. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family. I’m also an avid sports fan—cheering on the Chicago Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks. Giving back to the community is deeply important to me. I currently serve on the board of The Caring Place, act as vice president of the Valparaiso Lions Club, and serve as an ambassador for the Valpo Chamber. I also volunteer with Opportunity Enterprises and participate in PALS for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Northwest Indiana. These organizations make a meaningful impact, and I’m grateful to be part of their mission. At Edward Jones, we believe that strong relationships are built face to face. That’s why we meet when it’s convenient for you—recognizing the demands of your schedule and your life.

Wanted to share some news that may be new to some and old news to others!

Back in February, Brock Lloyd, MBA, CFP® ChFC® CRPC™ and I decided to team up and become a two financial advisor office. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Brock. He has been a mentor and a tremendous influence on me, especially in the way he has made such a meaningful impact on his clients and our community.

With this new team structure in motion, we knew we needed additional support to help bring our vision to life. We were blessed to welcome two new administrators, Brenda Cromwell and Gabrielle Gomez, in late April/early May.

In such a short amount of time, they have already made a tremendous impact and fit seamlessly into our culture. It goes without saying how much we appreciate our senior administrator, Marianne, for helping train, support, and welcome them to the team.

More recently, our team had the opportunity to enjoy dinner together and meet each other’s spouses. It was a great evening to get to know one another on a more personal level, hear more about each other’s lives, and take a moment to say thank you and appreciate all that we’ve accomplished so far, while also looking forward to everything that’s still ahead.

We proudly call ourselves the DREAM TEAM! And I’m excited for what’s to come.

Wishing everyone a safe, fun, and relaxing Labor Day weekend! 🫡 🎉

Happy first birthday to our son, Mason! 🎉💙 It’s hard to believe how quickly this past year has gone. When people say, “Don’t blink or they’ll grow up fast,” they really mean it!

I’ll admit, I wasn’t sure how I could love you as much as I love your sister, Emmy, but you’ve made it so easy. You fit perfectly into our little pack, and you’re always making everyone laugh with those big smiles and hilarious blank stares. 😆

We’re so blessed to call you ours, and I’m especially blessed to be your dad. I can’t wait to watch you grow, learn, and become the amazing person you’re meant to be.

Happy 1st birthday, Mason! We love you more than you’ll ever know! ❤️

A Reflection on the Last Couple of Days

These past couple of days have been a powerful reminder of just how quickly life can change. This is the most severe storm NIPSCO and our region have ever experienced, and the damage left behind is something many of us have only ever seen on television.

It truly puts into perspective how fortunate we are to have the everyday things we often take for granted. We are especially grateful that our office never lost power and that we have been able to continue serving our clients, checking in on them, and even offering a place to enjoy a cup of coffee and charge their electronics.

During this time, I think it is more important than ever to lead with kindness, patience, and understanding. Please check in on your friends, family, neighbors, and loved ones to make sure they are safe and doing okay.

I would personally like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our linemen and women, first responders, local businesses, and community members who have stepped up to help. From providing updates and opening shelters and charging stations to offering food, resources, and countless other forms of assistance, your efforts have made a tremendous difference.

Please continue to monitor official websites, local radio stations, and social media platforms for updates and important information. And, as always, be mindful of scams and misinformation during times like these.

Most importantly, let’s continue to look out for one another and remember the strength of a community coming together.

“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” — Henry Ford

This post is a combination of older and more recent memories that remind me how much can change in just a few years.

The first two photos were taken nearly three years apart. The first was in October 2023 when I traveled to St. Louis to launch my practice with Edward Jones. Last week, I returned for our firm's Wealth Summit.

It was a great opportunity to hear about our firm's vision, gain perspective on the markets, and connect with advisors from across the country. Every time I attend an event like this, I'm reminded why I chose Edward Jones. The culture, collaboration, and commitment to serving clients are truly second to none.

This trip was especially meaningful because I got to share it with my cousin, Daniel Perez. Dan was one of the biggest influences on my decision to become a financial advisor. I'm grateful I had the courage to reach out to him years ago and ask questions about this profession. Looking back, that conversation helped change the course of my career.

Another highlight from this year was traveling with my field trainer, Robert Bober, to hear John Choi, MSFS, CFP® speak. One lesson that has stayed with me is his comparison of retirement planning to climbing Mount Everest. Reaching the summit is only half the journey. The real goal is having a plan to get back down safely. That's a perspective I've shared with many clients since.

John also shared something that really resonated with me: he created a list for his wife outlining what she should look for in a financial advisor if something were ever to happen to him. It was a powerful reminder that our work isn't just about investments. It's about trust, preparation, and helping families navigate life's uncertainties.

I'm incredibly grateful to my friends, family, colleagues, clients, and community for allowing me to do work that I genuinely love. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your financial journey.

I'll leave you with one of my favorite quotes:
"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or the gazelle. When the sun comes up, you'd better be running."

Here's to continuing to learn, grow, and keep running 🏃‍♂️

A little Chamber appreciation post…

The Valpo Chamber has been such an important part of my personal and professional journey, and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

Back in the summer of 2023, my field trainer, Robert Bober, invited me to my first AM Valpo event. If you've never been, it's a networking event where everyone gets 30 seconds to introduce themselves and their business. From that very first morning, I fell in love with the Chamber, its values, and everything it offers our community.

I want to thank the entire Valpo Chamber team for welcoming me with open arms from day one: Rex Richards, Vanessa Lynch, Christine Pazdur, Stephanie Edwards, Brie Zacharias, Coralee Higgins and recently Carrie Prohl. Because of the Chamber, I've built meaningful relationships, grown my business, and become more involved in the Valparaiso community than I ever imagined.

About two years ago, I was honored to become a Chamber Ambassador. Our role is to help welcome new members, be a friendly face, and serve as a resource whenever questions come up. One thing I really appreciate about the Chamber is all of the TNTs (Tiny Noticeable Things) that make members feel valued. From quarterly new member breakfasts to the annual cookie deliveries to Chamber businesses, they consistently go the extra mile to show appreciation.

I'd also like to give a special shoutout to Stephanie Edwards for inviting me to serve on the Chamber Golf Outing Committee and, most recently, as Golf Chair. When this year's outing had to be rescheduled because of the weather, Stephanie did an incredible job pivoting. Thanks to her leadership and the flexibility of our golfers, sponsors, and volunteers, we still had a fantastic turnout.

Another well-deserved congratulations goes to Mike Moreth and Robert Moreth on celebrating 20 years of running Simko Signs. They've built an outstanding business that's become a household name in our community. Their shop has also become a place where people can connect, network, and feel welcome. Mike, who also serves as a Chamber Ambassador, was one of the first people to take me under his wing, invite me to events, and help me build relationships. I'll always be grateful for his support.

I'm incredibly thankful for what I get to do every day, and even more grateful for a community that has welcomed not only me, but my family as well. Sometimes they even tag along to networking events and my daughter, Emmy, is already a natural on the microphone! 😆

Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Here's to continuing to build relationships, support local businesses, and make our community even stronger.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures out there; you are truly appreciated. I’ve been called many things over the years: friend, brother, husband, financial advisor, etc, but nothing compares to being called Dad. It is a gift I don’t take for granted.

I also want to wish my dad a first Heavenly Father’s Day. I miss your presence and the daily messages that always motivated me. Thank you for always believing in me. I’m grateful for every moment we shared.

This year’s Edward Jones Summer Regional Trip in French Lick, Indiana, will forever be one of the most memorable and meaningful experiences of my career.

I always look forward to these trips because they provide an opportunity to reconnect with advisors across our region and spend time with their families. It’s a chance to share ideas, learn from one another, and celebrate each other’s successes.

This year, I was honored to receive the Legacy Award, an award voted on by peers in our region and given in recognition of contributions to the community and efforts to make it a better place. I am incredibly grateful and humbled by this recognition, especially knowing how many talented and deserving individuals are part of our region.

Awards like this are never achieved alone. They are built on the support, guidance, and encouragement of countless people who help shape our journey. One of the most meaningful parts of the experience was talking with fellow advisors and their spouses about the significance of this award and hearing about the incredible ways they serve their own communities.

I want to thank my friends, family, clients, and community for the trust you place in me and for allowing me to do what I love every day. Thank you for supporting me, giving me the opportunity to grow, and allowing me to spend a little extra time with my family during this trip.

A special thank you to my wife for her unwavering support and the sacrifices she continues to make along this journey. Success is rarely a straight line, and I know I would not be where I am today without you by my side 🤍

Finally, I’d like to recognize our Regional Leader, Devon Mulligan, for hosting his first Summer Regional and putting together such an outstanding event. The activities, experiences, and time spent together made it a truly special trip for everyone involved.
