Sometimes the best spot in the house is a little corner all to yourself!

That empty space by the window? It might be the perfect place to unwind, catch a sunset, or finally finish that book.

A few designer tips to make it your own:

🪑 Start with a comfy chair. Choose something you actually want to curl up in.

🧶 Add a little softness. A favorite throw and a textured pillow make it extra inviting.

💡 Think about lighting. Natural light by day, a small reading lamp for evenings.

☕ Keep essentials close. A small side table gives you a spot for coffee, books, or a glass of w**e.

🌅 Take advantage of the view. Position your seating to enjoy the sunset or whatever's happening outside your window.

No major makeover needed. Just a comfortable spot, a few thoughtful details, and a little space to call your own.

There’s something about a dark, moody room that pulls you in. Deep greens, charcoal, chocolate brown and other nature-inspired shades can make a space feel rich and inviting rather than heavy.
The key is what you pair them with—warm wood, brass or aged metals, natural textures and lighting that adds a soft glow.

And for fall? We’re loving these deeper tones as an alternative to the usual bright oranges and traditional seasonal colors. Dark, cozy and full of character. 🤎

Few design decisions seem to divide people quite like painting a brick fireplace. Some designers say leave that original character alone, while others will happily reach for the paintbrush.

The truth? It really depends on the space. Beautiful original brick can add warmth, texture and character that you may regret covering. But brick that feels dated, damaged or completely out of step with the room may benefit from a fresh finish.

Before you paint, consider the style and age of the home, the condition and color of the brick and whether other updates could give you the change you’re looking for.

There’s no one right answer on this one. Every fireplace deserves a second look before you pick up the paintbrush. 🖌

It's hard to argue with Jane Austen on this one! 🤎 Fall has a way of making home feel even better. 🍂 Cooler evenings, cozy layers, something good cooking and a little more time spent settling in.

You don’t need a room full of designer furniture to make a space feel thoughtfully designed. It’s often the way you mix, layer and play with what you have that makes the difference.

〰️ Mix curves with straight lines
🎨 Play with color and contrast
🧶 Layer different textures
🔥 Create ambience with a fire, candles or warm lighting
🌿 Add height with branches, greenery or a statement piece
🖼️ Bring in special touches that give the room personality
🪑 Move things around and try something unexpected

Don’t be afraid to experiment. Sometimes the combination you didn’t plan is the one that makes the room. ✨

Fall can make a home feel especially inviting—but when you’re staging to sell, a little goes a long way.

🍐 Bring in simple seasonal touches like pears, pumpkins, branches or fall foliage
🧶 Add warmth with soft throws, pillows and subtle texture
🕯️ Create a simple tray vignette with a candle, small vase or favorite fall accent
☀️ Let in as much natural light as possible
🌿 Layer in warm woods and natural materials
🔥 Highlight cozy features like a fireplace or welcoming gathering space
🎃 Keep themed and holiday décor to a minimum

I love a home that mixes things up—a vintage find, something passed down, a new piece you couldn’t resist. It’s those unexpected combinations that make a space feel interesting and personal.
And really, who are we to argue with Patsy? 😉

Fall’s newest design trend is all about making home feel as good as it looks. 🍂

Comfort stacking means layering in the things that make a space feel warm and inviting—think chunky knits, soft throws, plush pillows, layered rugs, warm lighting and natural textures.

The best part is that you probably already have everything you need. Pull out those favorite blankets, mix your textures and pile on a little extra comfort for fall. Cozy season is officially stacked. 🤎

Fall gatherings are right around the corner, and overnight guests may not be far behind. 🍂 A few thoughtful details can make your guest room feel extra welcoming.

✨ Fresh, layered bedding and an extra blanket
💡 A bedside lamp for cozy nighttime lighting
🧳 A clear spot for a suitcase or weekend bag
🔌 Easy access to an outlet or phone charger
👚 A few empty hangers and a little closet space
🕯️ A simple candle, fresh flowers or seasonal greenery
🥤 Water by the bed for a thoughtful finishing touch

Nothing fancy—just the little comforts that make guests feel right at home. 🤎

Halloween is the perfect excuse to have a little fun with your home. 👻

Mix in a few pumpkins, moody candles, bare branches, black accents or something a little unexpected. Go spooky, keep it subtle or lean all the way in—whatever works with your style.
No design rules here. Just have fun with it while you can! 🖤🎃
