For 25 years, MaineStream Finance has been removing barriers and supporting homeowners and small businesses across Maine. They have helped Maine business owners grow their businesses.

When Bill Smithson IV of The Twisted Road Transport came to MaineStream Finance in early 2025, he was in need of financing for truck repairs to keep his business moving forward. That investment helped his business build momentum and grow.

After adding new vendor partnerships and growing demand for his services, Bill returned later that same year for a second loan to purchase a specialized trailer for hauling lumber, logs, and freight and hired an additional driver along the way.

What started as a passion for horror films, pop culture, and Halloween has grown into a thriving downtown Bangor business.

Kaddie Sharpe and Nick Iammatteo turned their love of all things spooky into Emporium Spooky Goods & More, creating a one-of-a-kind retail experience for horror fans across Maine.

From specialty merchandise and local artist partnerships to film screenings, book signings, and community events like Goth Prom, they’ve built a business that brings creativity and energy to downtown Bangor.

Their growth continues. After quickly outgrowing their original State Street storefront, Emporium recently expanded into a larger space at 51 Main Street, Suite A in downtown Bangor, creating room for more inventory, more local artists, and more community events.
