The deadline to apply for health insurance through Healthcare.gov for a January 1st effective date is on Thursday, 12/15/2022. If you have not already had the opportunity to see if you are eligible for lower monthly costs, contact us. President Biden signed into law the American Rescue Plan act on March 11th, 2021, granting more availability for individuals to get help on health insurance premium costs with additional subsidies. As of July 1st, anyone that has collected unemployment, even if it was just one weeks worth, or approved to start collecting unemployment, is eligible for maximum subsidies and cost-sharing reductions. Income would have to be above the minimum requirement for a subsidy, but essentially what that means is many people are now eligible for free healthcare. In some states it cost $1 per person. As this Special Enrollment Period is coming to an end on August 15th, 2021, we want to do what we can to help those by creating awareness throughout the remaining 10 days so those that need healthcare, and qualify, can get the help they truly need.
