About a year and a half ago, my now 7-year-old son went through physical therapy and double leg casting to correct severe toe walking. It was a big year of growth for him. There were many hard days through the process, but he kept pushing forward.

A couple weeks ago, I watched that same boy cross the finish line of his very first 5K. Not just walking—running—with the biggest smile on his face.

Watching his journey reminded me that hard moments are temporary, but the strength you build along the way lasts forever. Please don’t ever give up on yourself!

Whatever challenge you’re facing right now, keep going. You might not see the finish line yet, but one day, you’ll look back and realize every step was worth it.

While walking downtown I saw this beautiful mosaic that is part of the sculpture series here in Troy. It is made up of many small, intentional pieces-just like our finances. Like scattered tiles in a mosaic our:

-Income
-Spending
-Investments
-Savings
-Debts
-Goals

Each hold meaning, but only when thoughtfully placed together do they create a beautiful, complete picture. One that reflects your values, priorities, and dreams.

What does your financial mosaic look like? I am here to help make the pieces come together!

I remember the day I took this picture and the joy my son felt seeing his butterflies he had since caterpillars take flight. It was also during one of the hardest seasons of my life. I was so thankful for the sunshine and laughter that day. When we see a butterfly and take in how graceful and beautiful they are, we may sometimes forget the very big transformation they’ve endured.

As we go about this month remember that behind every smile-whether that be a friend, family member, coworker, or yourself, the path to emotional health often includes daily battles. Just like the caterpillar’s silent, unseen work inside its chrysalis, many of us have put in a lot of work behind the scenes to get through the struggles.

Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, and we are all just trying to get through it the best that we can. If life is life-ing for you remember that seasons come and go, things can and will get better, and please never struggle alone.

When you're happily driving along, how often do you think about your spare tire? I think it’s fair to say probably not much…until you need it. When we experience a flat tire, as frustrating as that is, that spare brings relief. Having a spare tire suddenly SAVES the day because it keeps you moving when you experience unexpected trouble.
Disability insurance works the same way. You might not think about it every day, but if an illness or injury prevents you from working, it’s the financial backup that keeps you from being stranded
You might be thinking, “I have disability coverage through work.” That’s a great start, but often, it only covers a portion of your income. Take a moment to review your policy and ensure it truly provides what you need.
Just like a flat tire can happen to anyone, so can a temporary or long-term disability. Stay prepared, stay safe, and know that I’m here to help!

As you go about your day today, I encourage you to take a moment to appreciate the trees in your view. I love that trees not only add beauty to our surroundings, but they also make our world better. Julius Sterling Morton planned the first Arbor Day, which took place on April 10th, 1872. His efforts to make this day happen resulted in the planting of around 1 million trees. It is a great reminder that it can take just one person to make the lives of many better. We are also reminded of the power of planting something today that will grow strong with time. Trees do not grow over night and neither do our finances.
Financial planning is about more than just numbers. It’s about building a future that can weather life’s storms, provide shade for those you love, and stand tall for generations. Remember, you can be the one that makes the difference for your family- you have the power to change your life for the better.
This Arbor Day let’s be determined to plant with purpose, whether it’s in your backyard or in your finances. I am here to help!

Have you ever missed a step when walking up the stairs?
That sudden drop, the jolt-it catches you off guard. One second, you’re moving forward without worry and the next, your heart is racing and you’re trying to regain your balance.
That’s what life’s hardships can feel like at times, like you’ve lost your footing when everything was going just fine. They’re unexpected, leave us feeling shaky, and we might struggle to feel like we can keep going.
But here’s the thing- most of the time you catch yourself. Maybe with a stumble, maybe with a scrape, but you do. You don’t just stop climbing. You pause, breathe, and take the next step. Those steps might be slower, maybe a bit more mindful, but you keep going.
Whatever you’re facing right now, just know it’s okay to feel off-balance. It’s okay to have a moment. Please remember that you are not failing, you’re human. And step by step, you’ll find your rhythm again. Just don’t give up, keep moving forward, and hang in there!

Have you ever noticed how flying changes the way you see the world? From high above, everything looks different. Those busy streets shrink into neat patterns, and cars resemble tiny toys zipping along. The towering trees we walk past every day now look like clusters of broccoli sprinkled across the land.

The thing is, the world doesn’t change when you fly—but your perspective does. Flying reminds us how incredible life is and shows us that even the biggest challenges can feel much smaller when we take a step back.

The same applies to everyday struggles, especially with finances. It’s natural to feel stressed or anxious when things seem unclear. But changing your perspective can make all the difference. Reaching out to a financial professional is like taking that flight—they help you see the bigger picture, find clarity, and regain control, making life’s challenges feel less overwhelming.

So whenever life feels heavy, remember: you don’t have to stay grounded. Take a moment to rise above, to “fly.” Embrace a new perspective, seek support, and know that clarity and peace of mind are always within reach. I’m here to help you every step of the way!

A little "Throwback Thursday" to my 5-year-old self with my dad.
My dad is someone I deeply admire and respect. I have witnessed him face many hardships with resilience, turning what some might see as setbacks into opportunities. Growing up, he taught me the value of hard work. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve come to appreciate the significant sacrifices he made to ensure our family was always taken care of. He would share stories of when he started out working, digging graves by hand. Seeing where he began and the roles he has achieved today fills me with immense gratitude for being part of his journey. I firmly believe it is no accident that my dad is where he is today; it takes determination and dedication to achieve success. I am thankful that he took the time to instill in me the value of a hard day's work. Additionally, I am grateful for the man he is. I look back fondly on the times he played baseball with me and the early mornings we picked blackberries together. My dad has shaped me into the person I am today, and I am grateful for his continued support and encouragement throughout my life.

Who is someone that has inspired you?
