I got my letter from Blue Cross yesterday. I have their health insurance. This year every month I pay $579. Whether I use their insurance or not. And that's with the marketplace subsidy!

Next year I would pay more than $1,100 a month for health insurance. And that's with the marketplace subsidy!

Many of my doctors ONLY take Blue Cross and Blue Shield. But I'm not taking Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

I am very fortunate that as an agent, I have access to great tools with which I can compare and select my next year's plan: checking which doctors take which plans, which of my medications are covered. It makes it easy.

Paying for it, though? I don't know how that would ever be easy.

🌿 Snake Plant Fun Fact!
Most people know mother-in-law’s tongue (snake plant) as the nearly indestructible houseplant that never complains. But did you know it can flower and even make fruit? 🍊✨

Those little orange berries on mine are the seeds inside a fleshy fruit—something you almost never see indoors. It usually happens only when the plant is old enough, root-bound, and gets just the right mix of light and stress (mine lives indoors in the winter, outdoors on the porch in the summer).

So if your snake plant ever throws a flower spike or berries, celebrate—you’ve just witnessed one of its rarest party tricks! 🎉🌱

I had the pleasure of meeting Isabel Huckins this week at Central Park - she’s leading an exciting initiative called BLOCK TALK, the first of its kind community gathering, right here in our neighborhood.

I know that it feels like, these days, that things that were supposed to be AFFORDABLE (i.e. Affordable Care Act), aren't really. Affordable. Not any more.

Having to pay $50 just to talk to your doctor. or $150 to see a specialist.

You say, that's a pretty good deal - only $150!

Well, on top of the monthly payment that you make for the privilege of being able to pay $50, $150 ...MORE! Add that $150 to the $500 you're already paying every MONTH just to pay MORE? ... You feel me?

It's broken. No doubt.
