There has been a lot of information going around about the potential for quality losses on your crop insurance due to the amount of rain that we have received recently. This is what you need to know:
- If elected, quality loss is an option on your crop insurance that allows exclusion of quality loss from an APH database in circumstances where a quality loss occurs.
- You must make a claim on your crop insurance in order for it to be adjusted
- Damaged grain must be documented in the field or at the elevator. We recommend that you take a sample to your elevator prior to turning in a loss.
- TRIGGERS: Test weight for CN & SB drop below 49.0 lbs/BU; if total kernal damage exceeds 10% for CN and 8% for SB.
- Mycotoxins- contact your agent and adjuster for specific information

RMA just announced an additional 60 days to pay federal crop insurance premiums, interest free. The revised due date is December 1 with a postmark date of November 30. (The prior due date was October 1 with a postmark date of September 30).
