If you’re like me, the years run together. Someone will say “that happened in 2019” and I’ll think, “no way that was SEVEN years ago.”
Time moves fast.
But…..so do the values of construction. If you moved in to your most recent house in 2019-2021, the cost to rebuild your house has gone up significantly.
Why does that matter? Because how much your house is insured for isn’t based on market value, appraisal value or any value that automatically changes over time. It is based on how much would it cost to rebuild it TODAY.
So think about the last time you actually looked at your homeowners policy and determined how much insurance you have. If it hasn’t been in the last 18 months, let’s chat. Time moves really fast, but when something happens and you need to file a claim, you want to make sure your house isn’t underinsured.
