Bringing back a fan favorite.

Our newest TAPCO sticker is a throwback design featuring a bold mural of Tacoma landmarks, including Old City Hall, where our story began, the Tacoma Dome, and more iconic sights from around the city. It’s a tribute to the place we call home and the community we have been proud to serve since day one.

Stop by your local TAPCO branch and pick up this classic while supplies last.

Did you hear? TAPCO Credit Union received the Shining Star Community Partner Award from Tacoma Public Schools!

⭐THANK YOU, SHINING STAR COMMUNITY PARTNER: Each month, Tacoma Public Schools honors a community partner who makes a meaningful difference for students and families through the Shining Star Community Partner Award.

January’s award went to TAPCO Credit Union for supporting financial literacy and real-world learning at Baker Middle School.

Under the leadership of TAPCO Credit Union VP of Community Relations, Richard Stirgus, TAPCO has partnered with Baker Middle School for several years to provide hands-on financial education that helps students build essential life skills. Through interactive lessons, students have the opportunity to practice opening savings and checking accounts, as well as a car loan simulation that teaches budgeting and financing. TAPCO has also provided matching funds of up to $50 per student to help launch their real-world banking experience, removing barriers and creating meaningful opportunities for students to apply what they learn.

Thank you TAPCO Credit Union team for your commitment to students!

There is still time to pick up the March TAPCO sticker.

This month’s design was created by Jen Knapp, a Member Service Representative at our Gig Harbor branch. Her artwork was inspired by a photo she took from the Fox Island Bridge, capturing the movement of the Puget Sound and the presence of Mt. Rainier, often called “The Mother of Waters.”

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are proud to highlight Jen and the creativity of the women who help serve our members every day.

Stop by any TAPCO branch to grab the March sticker while supplies last, and learn more about Jen and the inspiration behind the design. Check the comments for the blog link.⏬

Our Youth Snack Drive is underway through March 31st, and our community is already making an impact. There’s still time to donate non-perishable snacks at any TAPCO branch to support local youth.

Together, our members and community are helping provide items like granola bars, crackers, and fruit snacks in partnership with local organizations serving youth and families.

If you’ve been meaning to give, we’d love to see you at a branch. Every donation helps support our community.

TAPCO Credit Union

TAPCO Credit Union was founded in 1934 by nine employees of the City of Tacoma, committed to making it easier for workers to get the financial help that they weren't receiving at traditional banks. Originally opened as City Credit Union of Tacoma, our first branch was located under the stairs of the Old City Hall in downtown Tacoma. As membership grew, the name changed to Tacoma-Pierce County Employees Credit Union, and was eventually consolidated to TAPCO Credit Union to represent Tacoma and Pierce County.

Anyone who lives or works in the state of Washington is eligible for membership. Each member has a voice in how TAPCO operates, regardless of how much he or she has on deposit. Member participation keeps the focus on the founding members' vision of "People Helping People".
