Every year I oil my oak door. It’s old and I try to preserve it the best I can. I tried stains and polyurethanes but they always cracked and peeled and turned yellow. I was at handyman hardware one year and the paint manager suggested an oil. He used to live in Colorado and he watched his neighbor oil his wood garage door each year. The garage door had a lot of sun and harsh winters but always looked good. Ever since I have been oiling my front door instead of staining or painting. I’m going on 13 years now. It looks ok for a 30 year old oak door 🚪.
