"In 2025, I had the opportunity to take my second sabbatical with Parkside. It looked very different from my first sabbatical in 2018.
Back then, I wasn’t married, didn’t have kids, and spent most of the time traveling around Hawaii and California. This time around, life had a different pace. In many ways, it made the experience even more meaningful.
A few highlights from my recent 4-week sabbatical:
• A girls trip to Disney World with my mom and my oldest daughter — such a special memory across three generations
• A few days in Las Vegas with my husband, including seeing the Eagles at the Sphere and some incredible meals
• Slowing down at home, where I picked up a new hobby (sourdough baking!), had many park dates with my daughters and wrapped up the time off at the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Dogtown
Parkside’s sabbatical program reflects a culture that truly values both hard work and the people behind it. Someone is always coming and going from sabbatical, which creates great energy in the organization as we all share our plans with each other and recount the highlights when we return to the office. This program would not be possible without everyone working together and encouraging one another to take time away to come back re-energized.
For every 5 years of full-time service, Parkside offers a 4-week paid sabbatical and travel stipend to allow employees time to explore, connect, and recharge.
