Debt is a nightmare.
Right now I am channeling all my energy into my student loans.

Here's a tip: If you can, pay the minimum that you have to pay monthly. Then, see if you can pay by group on your loans (see picture below).
If you can pay by group, pick the lowest amount group you owe, and throw any extra money you have at it. Even if it's $20! The idea is to pay off your smallest loan first to feel that win. This is called the debt snowball method and it's how I've paid off most of my groups. Only 23k to go!
This can also work your credit cards as well!

If you're looking for a side hustle let me introduce you to clinical trials and research studies! Most larger universities have them, plus it's a way to possibly get help for any health stuff you may be suffering from and give back! Talk about finding a silver lining!

Healthy Volunteers are sometimes wanted as well. Check out these current research opportunities at Washington Unviersity here in St. Louis. I just earned $200 completing the A Close Look into Daily Life research study.

Math I can get behind:
Take your monthly expenses, times it by 12. Then multiply that by 25. That is how much you need to retire!

Math I cannot get behind (although I am guilty): "Girl/Boy math" Examples:
- If it's on sale, it's now a profit if I buy it.
- If I return something but get store credit, now what I buy with store credit is free.
- If I pay with cash, it's free.
- spending an extra $5 to qualify for free shipping

If you find yourself girl mathing, challenge it! See what you are actually paying (or doing) and if that fits in with your goals. Ask yourself, am I justifying this purchase? Would I recommend this advice to a child? If not, what is it that I might need to learn?

Anyone else doing the Dave Ramsey Method?

If you’re serious about changing your financial life…
you don’t need motivation — you need a blueprint. 💰🔥

The Total Money Makeover — Dave Ramsey is exactly that.

This isn’t about fancy investing.
It’s about breaking the chains first.

✔️ Destroy debt with intensity.
✔️ Build an emergency fund.
✔️ Stop living paycheck to paycheck.
✔️ Take control of every dollar.

It’s simple.
It’s disciplined.
It works — especially for middle-class families drowning in consumer debt.

You don’t build wealth while chained to debt.
You build freedom first.

Sometimes the most powerful financial strategy is not “earn more”…
It’s owe less.

Are you ready to clean the slate and start fresh? 🚀

If you're new to budgeting, here's a copy of mine I've been using since 2020. I like sheets because you can get the app on your phone and it's free. I set my budget to have free spending (think coffee shop) and hobbies so that I don't feel so bad when I buy skateboard parts, etc. Feel free to edit how you need to!

Not a paid ad:
I learned about high yield savings accounts recently and regret not opening one sooner. If you have a savings account and you aren't earning interest, open one of these bad boys! Maybe not for an emergency fund, but some funds you'll want down the road.

I currently have mine through Barclays. I'm saving for a car in mine, but also a big vacation (and additions to my skatepark). The interest you earn is awesome! Pretty sure Barclays has a 0 dollar minimum, so if you just have $50 you can squirrel away, you can earn interest on it!

The Barclays Online Savings Account offers industry-high interest rates (APYs) and secure, 24/7 access to your funds. Open an account today.

One time I saw a Reddit comment that said if you have an urge to go to Target, go to a museum, you just wanna look at stuff. 🤯
