The updated 2026 version of ICD-10 became effective on October 1, 2025. These are our two favorite sources for diagnosis codes. The CMS site (these are the official files):
https://www.cms.gov/medicare/coding-billing/icd-10-codes
Under 2026 ICD-10 CM & PCS files, download the file “2026 Code Tables, Tabular and Index (Zip).” The zip file contains a searchable PDF of the full code set in the file “icd10cm_tabular_2026.pdf.”

This site is most useful when you want to search for applicable codes using a narrative description of the condition. Also has nice resource page on different types of coding issues.
An EMR system should download and utilize these codes on the effective date. However, we have found that in eClinicalworks, if there is a diagnosis based on the patient’s existing list of conditions, the diagnosis code will NOT automatically update. I suppose this would constitute the robot practicing medicine without a license. If we can help, please call!
