IUL sounds complicated. It doesn’t have to be.
One thing I tell people all the time is this: understand the strategy before you buy the product.
An Indexed Universal Life policy, or IUL, is a type of permanent life insurance. It can provide a death benefit for your family while also building cash value, with interest-crediting tied in part to the performance of a market index, subject to the policy’s terms, caps, floors, fees, and other limitations.
But an IUL isn’t automatically the right answer for everybody.
Your age matters. Your goals matter. Your budget matters. And how the policy is designed and funded matters.
That’s why at MFIVE, we believe education comes before products.
Before somebody tells you that you “need an IUL,” make sure you understand what you’re getting and why it fits your financial plan.
Have you heard about IULs but still aren’t sure how they work? Drop “IUL” in the comments.
