Sorry for the delay:

Next step, after you have pulled every credit report from each bureau you’re going to take a highlighter or pen or whatever to make marks with and you’re going to mark everything that is incorrect or outdated. I also want you to use different colors. This will help you later.

With one color highlight anything incorrect includes misspelled names, old addresses, old employers, or accounts that are simply not yours.

With another color I want you to highlight anything with late payments.

Lastly with the third color highlight any collections or negative closed accounts.

Credit Karma is a great tool to monitor your accounts, account balances, late payments reported, credit inquiries, etc when repairing credit or just monitoring your credit period.

HOWEVER Credit Karma is a VANTAGE score NOT a FICO score. Most Lenders ONLY use your FICO scores, so it is best not to monitor the score Credit Karma provides because 9x out of 10 the score they pull will be your FICO score and it may look very different from your VANTAGE score.

Last but not least, there are many different types of FICO Scores, and when buying a Home, your MORTGAGE FICO SCORE is what is being reviewed. NOT credit karma, FICO 8 or 9 or any other variation so pay great attention when checking for this score.

*BEFORE ANYONE COMMENTS YES YOU CAN GET APPROVED FOR A HOME WITH A SCORE AS LOW AS 580 BUT COME ON WHO WANTS BARE MINIMUM???
