Something Tammy Romage said on the show last week has been sitting with me.

"AI and global talent is the new infrastructure for scale."

She's talking about her franchise model, but the thing underneath that line is bigger. A lot of the people I talk to are exploring franchise ownership because AI is already reshaping their industry and their current role feels less certain than it did two years ago. That fear is real and I don't think it goes away by ignoring it.

What I've seen, though, is that the people who make the move well don't do it running from something. They do it because they find a model that makes actual use of what they've spent years building, and that clarity changes the whole calculation.

The disruption that's coming for a lot of corporate roles is the same disruption creating demand for what a lot of these franchise models do. Satellite Teams is one example. The executives who own those franchises aren't starting over. They're the ones with the relationships and the credibility to be the guide for businesses that don't know how to access global talent or integrate AI into their workflows.

That's not a guarantee of anything. But it is a real shift in where the leverage is.
If you're at the point where you're seriously weighing whether to make a move and you want to talk it through, I'm happy to get on a call. No agenda, just a conversation.

Most people think decades in corporate is the opposite of entrepreneurship.

It's not. It might actually be the best training for it.

Think about what you've built over a career like that. You know how to lead a team through uncertainty. You know how to read a room, manage up, and fix problems before they become fires. You've been accountable to outcomes that weren't entirely in your control.

That's not a liability when you own a business. That's the whole job.

The gap most corporate professionals feel isn't a skills gap. It's a confidence gap. They've spent so long inside someone else's system that they've forgotten those skills belong to them, not the company.

The system changes. The person who built the skills doesn't.

What's one thing you've learned in your corporate career that you think would actually serve you well as a business owner?

Most people who reach out to me don't think of themselves as entrepreneurs.

They've never owned a business, so in their head that disqualifies them, even though they've been leading teams, hitting numbers, and solving real problems for years.

I had a guy reach out who'd spent fourteen years coaching college tennis. Recruiting, traveling thirty plus weekends a year, building players up one season at a time. He didn't see a business owner in the mirror. He saw a coach who was tired and looking for the next thing.

What he actually had was a decade and a half of discipline, of showing up when he didn't feel like it, of getting people better at something hard. That's not nothing. That's most of the job.

The question I ask people isn't "are you an entrepreneur." It's "have you already been doing the things that make one." Most people answer yes and don't realize it until someone points it out.

If that's you, the readiness is probably already there. You just haven't been shown it yet.
