Bitter sweet being in The Washington Post. I have to remind myself: what other people think of me is none of my business. Not easy as I care and want to create a positive impression. I was put as a random person who's a crypto trading addict instead of someone who has learned to navigate the volatile crypto markets, recognized when panic or greed was driving me and how to successfully diffuse triggers to overcome trading. Also that I completed Moralis Academy (Ivan on Tech) certifications in trading, cryptocurrency and blockchain.
I didn't lose tens of thousands of dollars like the article said. On May 8, 2021 I had profits of $71,672 (224.55% gains). 6 weeks later when the crypto markets crashed and hit a low on June 21, 2021 my profits dropped to $31,576.18 (95.34% gains). If I hadn’t been greedy, I could have transferred an additional $40,096 to my bank account. I was never negative/upside down. Only on unrealized gains.
It's written like I just got into 12 step program. I have been in the money program known as Debtors Anonymous since 2009. The focus is "Don't debt one day at a time". I have been debt free since 2019. I do not leverage/margin trade. I have no unsecured debt, only a fixed rate mortgage on a home I can comfortably afford. I am a spiritual self help author published by HarperCollins Publishers
I had agreed to be interviewed for this article because I'd had numerous people reach out to me and share they were having challenges with the highs and lows of the crypto markets. My intention was to share crypto and spiritual tools that have helped me navigate crypto's volatility so that each one of us can trade responsibly within our means.
I didn't say people will get "murdered," I used the crypto term "wrecked". I want crypto regulations to protect crypto newbs from rug pulls and scammers but I do not want innovation in and to be crushed because the landscape and definitions of what are deemed securities is still undefined.
Crytpo was going to make them rich. Instead, therapists say they are seeing a rise in people who became depressed and addicted.
