It can feel risky to be vulnerable - but it can feel like such a reward when someone chooses to be vulnerable with you.

Thank you, Nicole Corey, for the gift of this conversation - I'm so glad it exists for those of you who will hear it today - and for the days in the future when I'll need to hear these words again.

In this episode of Bound & Determined℠, we go to a place in the history of the pod that we've not gone before: Failure. It's a loaded and heavy topic and if you've ever contemplated taking a risk (wink, wink) I know you've thought the thoughts we're sharing out loud.

Maybe you're even thinking them today.

With our roots in traditional, corporate employment, Nicole and I also sort through our evolving relationship with money since we both ventured out on our own - and the existential questions:

What is enough?
Does money = freedom?
What am I even doing here?

We kept talking - and I totally forgot we were recording - about:
✨ The learning through travel and the notion of home - is it a feeling or a place?
✨ We are not the same for the experiences we've had - but what happens to your business when you change?
✨ Can we talk about access to health insurance for female founders? It's a problem, friends.

Thank you, Nicole, wherever you are (!), for reminding me that this journey is my own, but I'm not alone as I navigate it. 💚

My Dear Colleagues and Friends

As my first year as a new business owner comes to an end I felt compelled to write something.

We can all appreciate that 2020 did not go as we wanted, imagined, planned, or expected; and we are all eagerly awaiting the beginning of a New Year, 2021.

But, I think it is important to take a moment and acknowledge all that we did accomplish and overcome in 2020.

We did hard things! We rolled with the punches, and many of us grieved life as we knew it.

Be proud of your bravery, and appreciate the new outlook.

I reflect on 2020 with grace and less judgement. May I continue on my journey with courage and faith in myself and my business for 2021. I am proud to have survived and I know that there is a place for me here.

Know that you play a significant part in this journey and I am so grateful to the fulfillment, encouragement and love that each of you bring to my world.

I wish you all an abundance of health and happiness in this New Year.

Befriend your fears and remember, the hard things are often so worth it.

Warmly,
Nicole

Hey friends, give my page a like.

I’ve been in the industry over 20 years both as a claims adjuster and a claims consultant. I believe that employers can help themselves in the claims process and I show them how. I fix the lack in understanding of the workers’ compensation claims process for both the employer and the employee in an effort to mitigate the negative impacts of a work injury.

A lower Experience Modification Rate, means less insurance premiums and more job bidding. Using my values of communication compassion transparency and collaboration, I can help you create an engaged advocacy-based culture for your business, where you understand the implications of your work comp decisions and your injured workers know they are valued.
