Dear friends, family, and supporters of my campaign to San Francisco.
Election day was a week ago today and the Department of Elections is still counting more than 38,000 of 260,000 total ballots returned. Needless to say, we will not prevail. I am so proud of our effort which began more than a year ago. Our campaign had a vision for a safe San Francisco where violent criminals and petty theft was held accountable,... where Fentanyl dealers are immediately brought to justice and government leaders are held accountable for the billions of dollars spent every year on homeless, mental health and addiction. We raised the most money (excluding independent expenditures), swept the union endorsements, and had more individual contributors than both candidates in opposition. Despite the loss, I remain hopeful for Our City and will continue to fight for the San Francisco that we all deserve. I am armed with many great and new relationships, an encyclopedic knowledge of how machine politics (on the left and the right) runs San Francisco elections, and an undying will to fight for Our City and a selfless government that serves only its people. I am thankful and grateful to my team and the support of so many people (far too many to mention here) who sacrificed so much. This is not the end of our campaign, but the beginning of our fight for the best version of San Francisco!
