These terms establish guidelines on the use of official social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram) of the East County Advanced Water Purification (AWP) Program, which is administered by the East County AWP Joint Powers Authority (JPA). Paving work on the west side of Santee Lakes is set to begin on Friday, September 4.

Crews will grind and repave the road from Lake 1 up to Lake 4 over the next few weeks.

Work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect temporary road closures and please be sure to follow all posted signage.

Work is expected to be completed by October.

UPDATE- Construction is progressing on sewer infrastructure beneath the roads from Santee through the City of San Diego to Mission Valley.

Pipeline installation is nearly 70% complete, with 65,000 linear feet of pipeline now in place.

Good news- traffic control has been reduced near the west entrance to Mission Trails Regional Park.

The westbound lanes of Mission Gorge Road are open from Father Junipero Serra Trail to Jackson Drive.

This comes as pipeline construction is 66% complete with 51,800 linear feet of pipeline installed to date.

The East County AWP Program will do more than create a new local source of drinking water- it will help generate clean energy, too.⚑️

By capturing methane produced during wastewater treatment, the Program’s Energy Recovery System will generate 20,000 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy each day- that’s enough to power about 700 homes for one day.πŸ’‘
