Hello friends and family!! So, most of you know the story of us traveling during COVID-19 in 2020 and getting “Stranded” in San Diego for 40+ days, during which time we both fell in love with San Diego. When we left, I started putting it out into the universe that I really wanted to move to Southern California; a big dream to manifest for sure. So, for most of you, this news will not come as a shock.
Remember, I was born at Crawford Long Hospital and have always lived in or around Metro Atlanta. Georgia is where our family & friends are (well, many friends moved away a long time ago), and it’s where I’ve been doing mortgages since 2002. The furthest Brian ever moved away was Tupelo. Atlanta has been and will always be “home.”
But, something changed in me with the whole COVID-19 experience, and I have felt stagnant & stuck since then, longing to try something new and exciting; it almost became a challenge to see if we had what it took to start over fresh somewhere new and blaze a new path.
Well, after three years, I’m excited to announce that we have made the leap. As of today, Brian and I are putting down roots in Southern California. Brian will still be working remotely, but I get to take on a new, exciting challenge.
So yes, I will still be originating loans with The Truth and Lending Team at Highland Mortgage, which will allow me to provide the level of service my clients have grown to expect by still having my local team (and pay the bills, so please do keep you valued referrals coming in). However, I’ve also been given the fantastic opportunity with Highland Mortgage to develop and grow our amazing Brand & culture out West into California, where I will build my own Team and Branch!
Please make no mistake: it’s hard leaving our friends and family behind in more ways than I care to share publicly, and in many ways, the timing sucks. Not to mention the terrifying prospect of starting my business over anew. But the excitement of this new chapter and journey has overridden any fear and doubt; something about this move just feels right.
So in about an hour and a half, we will have traveled 2300 miles in 5 days, and officially land in San Diego and immediately try to acclimate to living out of our 450sqft RV; this part may prove to be the hardest lol!
So, for now, I'll leave you with this: keep manifesting those dreams, my friends, because when you do, some truly amazing things can happen! And expect roadblocks at every turn and just know that you can overcome them; nothing worth doing is ever easy!
Onward and upward!
