Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” - Albert Einstein 💭
⠀
This is literally my favourite quote of all time! As I resonate with this a lot! Quite a few years ago I used to dwell on my weaknesses and they used to get me down. One of the things that not many people know about me is that I’m dyslexic. It’s quite common, especially in your school years, for people to judge your intelligence by your ability to spell correctly or to have good grammar. And of course, it goes without saying, we all know that’s absolute nonsense. It’s all about perspective! 🌍
⠀
When it clicked for me, I realised what I lack in basic things like spelling and grammar, I excel in so many other areas, especially creativity. 🖋
⠀
It was only when I began to view dyslexia as a positive that I began to see the benefits, and saw the true gift it really is. 🙌🏼
⠀
I was able to tap into a part of my brain that assisted me massively when learning new things like an instrument. This lead to me picking up the ability to play a guitar very quickly or being able to memorise large passages of text. I found this beneficial as I was able to vividly remember key paragraphs in some of my favourite books, literally word for word. 📘
⠀
This highlighted to me to focus on my strengths rather than waste time thinking about things that I might not be good at and things I can’t change. When your mind is focusing on your strengths you go into an empowered state. 😌
⠀
So if you’re the sort of person right now who focuses on their weaknesses: take a step back, think about this quote and gain some clarity to figure out where your strengths are. 🙏🏼
⠀
The moral of the story is: we really are all geniuses, we are all great at something. A lot of the time you just haven’t spent time figuring out what that is. This is why my mission is for people to have freedom, because when you’re free your mind is clear. You’ll be able to explore all of your passions and live a life where you’re actually fulfilled. 📖
