July was a great month of blessings. A couple of the blessings consisted being awarded CNM Certified Coach® & AFC® designations. As they said in the Barbe movie, “thank you, I worked hard for it.” The AFC designation took me a year, passing an exam and 1000 hours of providing financial education. The CNM certification had its own set of requirements. Both are complete and I am proud to continue providing financial education for generational wealth.

Thank you to the amazing organizations such as that contributed to my AFC goals. 🥹

One day or day one?

You most likely have heard this saying before. Most likely in reference to working out and setting health habits. But the same goes for your finances. There is no perfect day to start. It is simply starting. Though it is easier said, than done it is possible. Do not focus on the mountain that is the world of personal finance. Focus on the first step up the hill.

Day one: gather all your sources of income.

Day two: gather all your statements.

Day three: make sure you have accounted for all your sources of income and all the expenses you and your family have.

This is just one of the many ways you can get started. There is no right or wrong way, there is the way that works for you. One day or day one?

Lo más probable es que hayas escuchado este dicho antes. Lo más probable es que se refiera a hacer ejercicio y establecer hábitos de salud. Pero lo mismo ocurre con sus finanzas. Traditionally there are four phases in one's financial journey: wealth accumulation, growth and management, preservation, and distribution. Another way to look at the phases is to see them as seasons. Much like there is a season to crawl, a season to walk, a season to run, and a season to relax. The phases may look different for everyone depending on your upbringing and cultural expectations. But knowing where you are is important to help guide your goals to your next phase.

There are so many options and tools available to manage your personal finances. But at the end of the day, you know yourself best. You are your own best case study, try each method and see what makes you feel most comfortable and successful. Be sure to give each method a fair chance. Try it for a month or three, but make sure you give each of the methods the same amount of testing time. In business, it is known as A and B testing. What financial tools are you going to test today?
