Most Buyers Fall Into 1 of These 3 Levels - Here's How to Move Up
Fast
If you had to rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10, how ready do you feel to buy a home? I’ve worked with hundreds of buyers, and I’ve noticed most people fall into one of these three stages when it comes to getting ready to buy.
Level 1 is “Curious but Clueless”
This means you’re dreaming about buying in the next few years, but have no idea where to start. You’re browsing Zillow listings in your area, but have no real clue what you can realistically afford or how much you need to have saved.
If this is you, don’t worry — this is where most people start.
Level 2: Prepping, but Not Pre-Approved
You’ve started saving, maybe paid down some debt, and you’re watching the market — but you haven’t talked to a loan officer yet.
This is the danger zone where people get stuck, overwhelmed, or miss out on the perfect home because they thought they were more prepared than they really are.
Level 3: Pre-Approved and Positioned for Success
You’ve reviewed your finances with a pro, know your budget, and are ready to move when the right home hits the market.
This is where you have leverage, confidence, and options. It’s also where offers get accepted.
No matter what level you're at — the goal is progress, not perfection. But the sooner you get to Level 3, the smoother your path to homeownership becomes.
Which level are you at right now? Be honest — and if you’re not sure, let connect and I’ll help you figure it out.
