With more than 25 years of experience in insurance and healthcare programs, I bring a strong background in consumer advocacy and public service. I served as a Consumer Advocate for the Oregon Insurance Division, helping protect and educate policyholders about their rights. I also worked alongside the Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance Program (SHIBA), assisting individuals with Medicare questions and concerns.

🎉 Oregon Medicare Birthday Rule Reminder! 🎉 Your birthday is an important time to connect with your trusted Medicare broker.

If you have a Medicare Supplement plan (such as Plan F, G, or N), Oregon gives you a special opportunity each year around your birthday to review your coverage.
****You have 30 days before your birthday and 30 days after to compare premiums and switch to a similar or lower plan with another company if you find a better rate.
This is a great time to review your options and make sure you're not paying more than you need to.

🚨 MEDICARE GROCERY CARD COMMERCIALS 🚨
If you are seeing commercials promising “free grocery cards” for Medicare beneficiaries, please pause before calling that number.
These ads are paid lead generation campaigns. Their goal is to get you to call a sales center, not to educate you.
There is no automatic Medicare grocery benefit.
Some specific Medicare Advantage plans may include limited food or over the counter benefits, but they are plan specific, income specific, and county and zip-code specific. They are not guaranteed and they are not available to everyone.
Please do not respond to flashy commercials or high pressure sales centers.
Call a trusted local Medicare broker who can review your actual eligibility and explain your real options clearly and honestly.

Does Medicare Cover That? 🤔
One of the most common questions I hear is: “Does Medicare cover this service?”
The answer depends on whether you have Original Medicare (Part A & Part B) or a Medicare Advantage plan. Coverage, referrals, and out-of-pocket costs can vary.
Before scheduling tests, procedures, or specialist visits, it’s important to understand how your benefits are paid. Knowing your coverage helps you avoid unexpected bills and denied claims.
