Today I’m grateful for the chance to reflect on Legaci of Tomorrow in action. Legacy isn’t about what we leave behind in the bank; it’s about what we lift up in others when we choose to give back.
Cancer touches families in ways that humble us all, reminding us that time, health, and community are the most precious gifts we share. That’s why at Legaci, we invest with a purpose: to ensure that every moment against this disease is met with support, hope, and a path to brighter tomorrows.
Lydia’s story is a powerful reminder of why we do this work. At seven, Lydia faced a diagnosis that forced her family to seek care far from home. Through perseverance, her care team at UC Davis Children’s Hospital, Dr. R.L. Randall and Dr. Elysia Alvarez—delivered a treatment journey that preserved mobility and joy. Lydia’s “Toy Joy + Art Cart” brought smiles to other young patients, turning hospital stays into moments of light. Now eleven, she’s thriving, singing in chorus, decorating for holidays, and approaching life fearlessly. Her courage reminds us that every donor, every volunteer, every advocate helps ensure families like hers don’t fight alone.
We give not only dollars, but our time, our hands, and our hearts, because an invested community is a resilient community. By supporting research, widening access to care, and uplifting families through treatment, we create a ripple that reaches far beyond today.
My why is simple: to honor those who’ve fought with courage, to empower those who are fighting now, and to build a legacy of compassion that endures. This is about us together, standing with every patient, every caregiver, every researcher.
If you’re able, join us on October 20 for our first annual golf tournament, reach out to me to learn more and get involved. Let’s show our community that philanthropy is a living testament to who we are: grateful, steadfast, and hopeful.
Thank you to everyone who supports this mission. Here’s to another year of turning generosity into action.
ITS ABOUT US!
