In the next couple weeks, I will be sending out to sale lists, one with records, the other with zines. The record list will be a combo of punk, reggae, stuff I picked up in Italy, jazz, etc. Good, solid, stuff. The zine list will be something special. It will be composed of original copies of 70s/80s zines like Search & Destroy, Slash, Backdoor Man, Creep, Chainsaw, Revolutionary Wa**er, Forced Exposure, Flipside (early), Subterranean Pop, Re/Search (orig newsprint), and more. I've got two crates of great zines, so there will be several lists of this stuff. If you are not on my email list, sign up on the link below.

Hi, the printer tells me that Record Time No. 1 will be in my paws this coming week. If that is so, for those of you who have ordered one - and contributors - it will be in the mail by the end of next week. The retailers who ordered direct will also have their copies mailed to them. Whomever orders from Revolver, probably a few days later.

Of course I'd like to sell you a copy or more direct but I also encourage you to hit up your local record or bookstore to carry it and/or go to one of these fine establishments to buy one. Actually, if you can, please do hit your local seller, as it's important for the long term health of the mag that this sells well for them. But if you don't see something local, hit up your fave stores or buy one from me. Here's who is carrying it:

Okay! It is time once again to offer a few record deals. Take advantage of these for yourself or as a unique holiday gift for someone who'd enjoy a record adventure.

The 45 deal: You send me money I send you a box of 45s & 7"s of my choice. How many I send will depend on how much you spend, but it usually comes out to two bucks a record postpaid, depending on what I have and how generous I am feeling. The mix is probably going to be reggae, punk, rock, R&B, country, and novelty, with an enka or some other kinda of obscure single thrown in. Minimum in US is $25 though you can go higher if you want.

The 78 deal: Yes, I have 78s - primarily Hawaiian music, country, blues, R&B, jazz, and some odds and ends. Because 78s are fragile and require lots of packing, you are not going to get as much bang as you would with the 45s. Minimum is $25.

The "regular" LP deal: Pretty much the same as with 45s, though you aren't going to see a reggae album. $40 is the min.

The S.S. Records LP deal: This works one of two ways. 1) You send me $40 of more and I set you up with whatever. Or 2) You go through the S.S. catalog and tell me what you want. I'll tell you what I have and make you a deal. Let's say a min of 4 LPs (duplicates okay, though see the next deal).

The S.S. LP wholesale deal: Let's say that you want to make me and a bunch of other people happy and say give away Twinkeyz, Proletariat, feedtime, Sidney Miller, or other SS-LPs away for Xmas: Well, I'll sell you five or more copies of a single title at wholesale. Seriously, who won't want to be your friend when you are playing Santa with Twinkeys albums!

So, how you do this is easy. DM me with what you want, your email and where you want the records sent. I'll invoice you. You pay. I ship. If you want to do the 45 whatever deal for one or several people and have me send the boxes direct, I can do that. I can even gift wrap the records - though the wrapping paper will be the Easter paper I used for the first Lil Bunnies 7", which would make it an even more unique "gift experience."

US-American Independent label started in 2000 by Scott Soriano & Sakura Saunders. Run exclusively by Soriano since 2004.

This week's record special! About 4 years ago, I reissued to killer Brazilian records, one by Alceu Valenca, the other by Sidney Miller. They originally came out in the early 70s, right after the end of tropicalia, though they both have a tropicalia feel, psych, too. Valenca is more rural - he plays with a lot of N Brazil folk rhythms. Miller sounds pretty urban, like an adult version of Os Mutantes. I've sold a lot of Valenca's. Some Miller's. I was told that people who don't know him, don't think Sidney Miller is Brazilian. He is and this album sounds like it came from Brazil. Anyway, both of these albums are killer and I'd say that at least 80% of the people who have bought them from me will agree. So, this week and maybe next, I am selling both of them to you for the sweet price of $20 postpaid in the US, $40 everywhere else (no Sedition outside of US). That is less than what you would buy one new album in the store. Nothing wrong with these. Brand new, sealed. But wait there is more. If you act now, I will throw in a copy of the Sedition Ensemble album, which you might already have. If you do you can give the extra to a friend or tell me, thanks but I have it and then maybe I will throw something else in there. So if you are interested. Message me and I will set you up. Twenty bucks, two albums sent to you in the USA, forty rest of the world. Wotta deal!

Although largely remembered for their relationship to the first generation of Boston hardcore, The Proletariat stood apart from the breakneck speed and youthful abandon of the era while offering a sound that was just as intense. Drawing frequent comparisons to Gang of Four, they avoided generic thra...

Once diminished as a momentarily convulsion on the path toward increased aural sophistication, punk rock has endured as a vital development in the annuls of modern music. It’s a style too often debased today, but in a swell turn of events Sacramento’s Ss Records offers a corrective to the defilement...

"What I love most about Rumors 2, is how unique this sound feels while at the same time sliding right into the current DIY punk movement sweeping this region, Pony Time recalls the sound of bands like Chastity Belt, Childbirth, or Mommy Long Legs, but that intense fuzz and Luke and Stacy’s talents make Pony Time stand out brilliantly, and Rumors 2 becomes a musical centerpiece of its time."
