This is a message from the Rowlett Animal Shelter located at 4402 Industrial Street. The city shelter is currently at maximum capacity and we are asking our residents to please consider adopting a new pet. Adoption rates have been reduced to help the shelter get back under capacity. Cat and dog adoptions are $ 25.00 until close of business on Saturday, March 9, and that includes the adoption fee, spaying and/or neutering, and vaccinations. As the year winds down we're reflecting on all the work, meetings, input and accomplishments of this past year. We refined the Realize Rowlett 2020 vision and rezoned four areas to Form-Based Codes with extensive public and property owner input! Thanks again to everyone who served on an advisory board or task force, attended a public meeting, or gave their input in any way!

Join us on Main Street from 3pm to 6pm today (December 1st) to celebrate the DART station opening! Enjoy music, fire works, the tree lighting, and train rides to Garland and back! Regular DART service starts on Monday.

The DART celebration is this Saturday, December 1st, 2012 from 3pm to 6pm in Downtown and, DART service to Rowlett begins Monday, December 3rd!
