Answer: C — It depends.

In this simplified example, Business A has $3,000 left after the listed expenses, while Business B has $5,000. So if we're looking only at those two numbers, Business B came out ahead.

But deciding whether a month was truly “better” can require more context—cash timing, unusual one-time expenses, debt obligations, and what the owner was trying to accomplish.

Some would be pretty predictable.

🏢 Rent: “I live here. You know I'm coming every month.”

💸 Random fees: “Don't mind me. I just show up sometimes.”

Some expenses are expected. Others have a funny way of sneaking in and making themselves at home. 😂

A few dollars here. A percentage there.

Payment processing fees may seem small when you look at one transaction — but over time, they can become a significant business expense.

💡 Take a look at your processing fees periodically and ask:

💳 How much am I paying each month?
📈 Have those costs increased as my sales have grown?
🧾 Are the fees being recorded correctly in my books?

The goal isn't necessarily to eliminate the expense. It’s to know what your business is actually paying to get paid.

That’s one more reason accurate bookkeeping matters — those little numbers are part of the bigger picture. 📊
