Marcella “Jean” Sefcik, 87, passed on from this life on September 2, 2026 in Caldwell, Texas. She was born to parents Adelia and Marcellus Tritt on February 17, 1939 in Fairbury, Nebraska.
Jean is survived by the love of her life, David Lee Sefcik, with whom she recently celebrated 70 years of marriage; her son, Kenny Sefcik; her daughter, Kimberly (Sefcik) Murfin and husband, Eric; her grandchildren, Heather (Sefcik) Montalvo and husband, Danny, Kelley Murfin, and Hunter Murfin and fiancée, Megan; her great-grandson, Heero Montalvo; her brother, Dick Tritt; and countless other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Clifford, Wayne, Dwight, and Marvin Tritt; and her daughter, Kelly Sefcik.
Jean loved taking care of people – she truly enjoyed being a mom, grandma, and great-grandma. Her house was a place everyone wanted to visit, always ready with award-winning homemade kolaches, sweet tea, and lots of hugs. Her friends and family will never forget her warmth, her generosity, her laughter, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and loved. She had a special gift for making people feel at home, and the love she gave so freely will live on in the many lives she touched.
